Episode 11: Cogent Wars, retailers selling used games, killing game designers

While games *should* be cheaper when sold electronically, I don't see that, probably because all the developers do is just get more money, instead of passing it on to the costumers like they should.
One example of this is Steam, on which Half-Life 2 starts at $39.95 whereas it's $29.99 on Amazon.com.
Another example is NCSoft that allows you to purchase their games directly from them to download immediately - you don't get a box, or a manual or even a CD and you still pay the full price (you can buy now Lineage 2 collector's edition for $20 bucks on Amazon.com and yet you still pay $49.99 in NCSoft's online store.

Where are the savings I ask you!? No, seriously, I hear a lot support for electronic game sales and it's obvious why the games should be cheaper, but why aren't we seeing that yet?

So someone actually made the game that Jack wanted and then he welched on the 10K calling his comments "satire."  Then the web comic Penny Arcade dropped the 10K to the charity and started to annoy Jack to the point of having him write letter claiming criminal "harassment" and trying to get the cops in Seattle to do something against Penny Arcade. There's ongoing news at http://www.penny-arcade.com/ (the Penny Arcade website) all of which I find very, very funny. I think slashdot even picked it up. Ah well, what less should be expected of lawywers

Wow, intense episode. And after all that Jack actually chickened out? Ouch. Now who's teaching society bad habbits?
