Episode 19: Piracy, Security Risks and a Really Hot xBox!

Yeap, I remeber the Commadore 64's power supply problem, I had one when I was 5y/o, but my SID chip never went out.

Someone was talking about the power supply on the Xbox360 and they told me that it looked like the one from the C64, so I guess they look similar.  I remember the C64 (I used to own about 5 at one time).  Most people would buy a new computer and then swap the power supply and return the computer to Toys R Us or whatever and say that it was broken...

I find it interesting how whenever people mention defective 360's they always say well look back at all the problems ps2 and xbox had when they launched. So defective products are apperently to always be expected. No one ever mentions the fact that Nintendo has had virtually 0 problems with gamecube or any other of their hardware. In my entire life i've never heard of a nintendo product breaking, or over-heating, or being dead on arrival or even freezing during play. I'm just dissapointed that company's always claim that defective products are to be expected, instead of putting in a bit more time to make sure they don't happen in the first place. Nintendo makes the effort, why can't Sony and Microsoft. And i'm certain that the percentages of freezing xbox's are more than claim. That majority of people I've talked to that own xbox's have had it freeze atleast once. Considering the small amount of time they've been out, that's not a good track record. It's a sad thing to see a console crash more than windows
Anyway, that's my rant. I just want better quality

As for virus sanners running in the background hoggin, yes I agree that norton and mcafee are shocking in hogging the system. Although there's a virus scanner which has won the virus scanner of the year 7 years in a row that doesn't get the marketing and advertising dollars that mcafee and norton get called NOD32.

I run it on my 166mhz laptop and my high end laptops and it works well on both and also detects spyware programs. You may want to review this software and its actually really good.

I agree with you Nick about NOD32... it's excellent - very set & forget, it just sits there in the corner, updates every hour if required & doesn't hog anything. I love your work guys, btw... sooo hard not to burst out laughing on the bus / train on the way home from work (especially at comments like Brad's experience in the carwash! LOL).

I am totaly agree with this line, it is more effective than installing anti-spyware or antivirus program. I hate those real time monitoring antivirus, which eat up ur windows system resources and bring down the overall performance.

FatCatXP try nod32, doesn't eat your system resources and does spyware and antivirus gee, sounds like i work for nod32.
